Below you can find the easiest ways to get to the Showground and important information to be aware of before your visit.

By train or bus

Plan your visit. Here you can see when the Show attracts the highest number of visitors. We recommend visiting on Friday or Sunday, or early on Saturday, as the busiest period at the entrances and on the roads is typically Saturday between 10:00 and 14:00.

During the opening hours of Roskilde Dyrskue, Movia shuttle buses run directly between the Showground and Roskilde Station.

The buses stop at Roskilde Hospital (on the same side as the hospital) on Køgevej near the roundabout – follow the signs at the station to the shuttle buses.

The buses depart when full and approximately every 5–10 minutes during peak hours and every 15–20 minutes during quieter periods.

Operating hours:
Friday: 07:30 – 22:10
Saturday: 07:30 – 22:00
Sunday: 07:30 – 19:00

Arrival at the Showground is at the Main Entrance – Gate 1.

Remember to check in and out using your Rejsekort or the Rejsekort app.
If you have already purchased a train ticket, it is also valid on the shuttle bus. Tickets can also be purchased on the bus.

Save money on transportation

Buy an event ticket for public transport – one adult can bring two children under the age of 12 free of charge, and the ticket is valid for 12 hours.
You can purchase the event ticket in the “Rejsebillet” app.

Getting there – follow the signs and avoid the motorway junction at Darupvej!

Roskilde Dyrskue and the Police want to ensure smooth access to the Showground, which means you may need to take a slightly different route than usual. Always avoid the motorway junction at Darupvej.

Do NOT set your GPS to Darupvej 19 unless you are looking for disabled parking.

Keep an eye on:

FROM COPENHAGEN, HILLERØD, HELSINGØR:
Set your GPS to:
Poppelgårdsvej, 4000 Roskilde

Follow the yellow road signs – you are intentionally directed off the motorway early.

Avoid driving through central Roskilde and avoid the motorway junction at Darupvej.

Exit 12 Roskilde S closed Friday and Saturday morning during the event
On the recommendation of the Police and the Danish Road Directorate, Exit 12 Roskilde S westbound will be closed on Friday 29 May and Saturday 30 May between 09:00 and 13:00. The purpose is to improve traffic flow on Køgevej and through Roskilde city.
Drivers coming from the Copenhagen area are instead advised to use Exit 8 Fløng and follow the signs to the Showground.

If you choose to travel by train instead, please note that shuttle buses run directly from Roskilde Station to the Showground – see the section above regarding buses and trains.

FROM KØGE:
Set your GPS to:
Vor Frue Hovedgade, 4000 Roskilde

You will meet the Police Home Guard in Vor Frue.

FROM NÆSTVED, SLAGELSE, HOLBÆK:
Set your GPS to:
Gammelgårdsvej, Darup, 4000 Roskilde

You will meet the Police Home Guard in Darup – they will direct you either via Darupvej or towards Kamstrup.

FROM HORNSHERRED AND WESTERN NORTH ZEALAND:
Drive through Hornsherred instead of using Route A6 and avoid driving through central Roskilde.

Set your GPS to:
Gammelgårdsvej, Darup, 4000 Roskilde

You should enter the Holbæk motorway towards Copenhagen, but you will be redirected at Exit 14.

Parking

Parking is free at the event parking areas.

Parking attendants will direct drivers to available parking areas.

There are parking areas on both sides of the Showground. We recommend parking near Poppelgårdsvej, as there is often heavy pressure on the parking areas near Darupvej – however, the Police Home Guard will always direct you via the fastest route to the Showground.

At the westernmost parking area, there is a pedestrian bridge over the railway tracks for quicker access to the grounds. Please note that the bridge is not suitable for prams or strollers, as it has stairs.

Exhibitors, associations and approved partners have access to red parking by prior agreement.

If you have a red parking ticket, please note that the red parking area opens to general visitors after 12:00.
